How to Absorb Energy from Art in 3 Easy Steps

You may already know your favorite places to put your mandala: such as your desk at work or home, bedside table, reiki room, meditation altar, yoga space, living room, kitchen window, or just about anywhere to remind you of the peace in your soul.

Truth: Your mandala will bring you peace ANYWHERE you put it!

Here are 3 steps for HOW to display your mandala to radiate its intention everywhere!

3 Steps to Absorb Energy from Mara’s Mandalas Art

1. Dedicate Space

At this point, you've already decided where to put your mandala or artwork. Yay!

Now, the fun part: clean up! Grab a cloth literally remove any dust or debris from the table or wall around the area. Cleaning the space helps to clear the space and invite new energy to exist here. Your mandala needs fresh space to let the energy of its intention flow and reach you every day.

Burning smokey sage around an area neutralizes the ions, allowing for positive energy to encompass a space.

If you like to use sage or incense, go over the space, and carefully allow the white smoke to clear the mandala.

After clearing the space:

  • Hold the mandala in your hands. Read the quote out loud or in your mind. Allow the meaning of the mandala to resonate through you. Close your eyes, and feel the energy of the quote.

  • Open your eyes, and gaze into the mandala for at 10 seconds (or more), and keep hold of that feeling in your body. This enhances the feeling for you to receive energy from your mandala each time you see it. Whether you read the quote or not, your body will reabsorb that energy starting now.

  • Place your mandala kindly and lovingly in its new home.

  • Step away from it, and pause. Say, "thank you for being my positive reminder for (fill in your intention here)," in your mind or out loud. Gratitude allow your mind and body to more openly accept the gift that the mandala shares, even in times of despair, frustration, or discomfort.

You have now succeeded in dedicating space for your mandala!

Each time you see your mandala, it will ignite positive love and light within you.

The next 2 steps are ways to ENHANCE this effort.

2. Place a special object nearby

Quick note: You may not need to add anything to enhance your mandala! Follow your gut here - your intuition will tell you if it needs something or not.

You received your mandala for a reason: a positive reminder to be true to yourself, achieve our goals, get peace of mind, feel hugs from a friend in a different state, or honoring a loved one who has left us.

Here are steps to add an object near your mandala to help you absorb the energy:

  • Place an object that makes you feel that same intention next to, behind, or anywhere near your mandala.

    • Examples are a specific flower, a sentimental candle, specific crystals, figurines (I have a buddha and a dragon near one of mine!), etc. Be careful to not just put a meaningless decoration there - it should be something that will enhance the meaning of your mandala.

  • Or, place an item there that reminds you of the person: a photo of you and your friend, or an obituary card, a handwritten note, etc.

It should be something that makes you smile in your heart.

This is a great way to use a sentimental item instead of tucking it into a shoebox under the bed. You could gently secure it on the back of the mandala if it doesn’t quite complement the decor in your room - you’ll still know it’s there!

3. Move it around often

Just as you change your clothes every day, it is important to freshen up our artwork every once in a while!

It just feels good!

Go for once or twice a year, or every season. Rotate your artwork to different locations in the house. It’s a refreshing stimulus for your energy!

Why move your mandala around?

Your mind is a special tool. It likes when things are in order so it can create automatic habits.

BUT - our minds try to stay in an automatic state. So, the things that once were fresh and exciting often go into the background of life.

Oh NO! - That means your positive reminders are blending into the background!

MIND ALERT TRIAL: Try moving a commonly used app around on your phone that's been in one specific spot forever. I bet you'll forget its new placement the first couple of times! This is a great way to freshen up our thoughts, just like moving your inspirational art.

The mind likes making things automatic, which is sometimes helpful, like brushing our teeth before bed. But sometimes, that automatic nature can make things stale and those once-helpful reminders that we set out just become something in the background.

Because we want our mandalas to give us the most positive energy possible, it's important to change up their home every once in a while to freshen up the energy.

Any time you move its location, refer to Tip #1 to really give it a fresh start!

OR....

Maybe you just LOVE where you have it, and you never want it to move from that spot! That's okay, that is your intuition telling you to keep it there! Because its purpose is still inspiring you.
